The Tamil Nadu Class 12 results 2014 were declared earlier today i.e. May 9, 2014 and an astounding 90.06% of the students having appeared in the Tamil Nadu Board HSC (Class 12) exam have passed. A total of 8.26 lakh candidates appeared for the Tamil Nadu Board Class 12 exams 2014 from 408 higher secondary schools. From the 4.45 lakh girls having appeared for the Tamil Nadu Class 12 exam 93.4% have passed and from the 3.80 lakh boys having appeared for the exam 87.4% have passed.
The topper of the Tamil Nadu Board of Secondary Education HSC (Higher Secondary Certificate) exams 2014 is Sushanti, a female student from Krishnagiri district who has secured first rank with 1,193 marks. The second rank holder is also a girl, Alamelu from Dharmapuri district who scored 1,192 marks missing the first rank by merely 1 mark. Two students have tied for the third rank D. Thulasi Rajan from Namakkal district and S. Nithya from Chennai district with 1,191 marks each.
In terms of pass percentage Erode district stands first with an impressive pass percentage of 97.6% followed by Nammakal 96.59% and finally Virushunagar district with 96.12%. The minimum pass percentage was witnessed by Tiruvannamalai district with a pass percentage of only 74.40%.
Mathematics proved the most scoring subject with around 3,882 students scoring 100% marks in the subject; 2,403 students in General Maths and 605 in Business Mathematics. After Mathematics, 2,710 students have secured full marks in Chemistry, 2,581 students scored full marks in Economics and 1,693 students received full marks in Physics.
Tamil Nadu Board examinations 2014 for HSC (Higher Secondary Certificate) began from March 3 with the Tamil Paper I and ended on March 25 with Computer Science and Biochemistry.
