The All India Ranking for JEE (Main) is supposed to be released on July 7. The Central Board of Secondary Education, the competent authority which conducted the national level test for engineering, extended the deadline for Std. XII marks confirmation from June 27 to June 30.
Around 12.5 lakhs engineering aspirants appeared for the exam and are waiting for their All India Rankings.
A circular put up on the JEE (Main) website on Thursday attributes the delay to the state boards who failed to submit their data on time, which has pushed the deadline of confirmation of marks by candidates, an online procedure mandatory for all aspirants. The JEE (main) ranks will be used by central institutes (NITs and IIITs) and other prestigious ones across India.
Private universities started their admission process in mid-May and would be winding up even the management quota in the next few days. Most of the private varsities – BITS, VIT, SRM and Manipal – have already conducted their admissions and most of their seats are filled.
The candidates can view their current marks as recorded by JEE Main by selecting their education board, entering their application number, JEE Main roll number and date of birth. In case of any discrepancy, candidates will be required to upload their official mark sheet. The JEE Main All India Rank 2014 will be based on a combination of JEE Main scores (worth 60 percent weightage) and Class 12 results (for 40 percent weightage).
