UGC has directed DU to retain the BMS course for students who enrolled for the programme last year. But the duration of the course will be reduced to three years now.
Degree course was introduced as part of the FYUP last year, and with the scrapping of the FYUP, the BMS was also rolled out.
“Students admitted to the BMS in FYUP programme of 2013-2014 by colleges may continue the programme. But, the duration of the course shall be of 3 years now,” the UGC said in a letter.
UGC also directed the university to obtain approval of the regulatory bodies such as the All India Institute for Technical Education (AICTE), so that the students do not face problems.
On the other hand, Delhi University has been been asked to retain Four Year B.Tech courses running in various colleges. But no further admissions shall be made in these B.Tech. courses under Four Year Programmes from this academic year.
